Be careful what you wish for...
Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this family friendly adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. Into the Woods features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch — in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.
The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever.

Micheal Lerner
Director
Michael Lerner is an acting teacher, director, actor, playwright, stage combat choreographer and puppet maker. He has directed and taught professionally throughout CT and the northeast for the past 35 years. One of the highlights of his work over the past 10 years has been the time he spends auditioning and briefly working with the students and production staff at Adoro Te! Michael is grateful to Adoro Te for the opportunity last fall to direct The Importance of Being Earnest. He is especially grateful to have been invited to work with the Adoro Te Alumni Theater on this, their debut production! This company of mature actors continues to devote themselves passionately, as they did when they were students, to producing excellent theater by creating unique and dynamic characters, beautiful musical entertainment, and performing with unbridled joy! Michael is also especially grateful to the Mihaliaks for inviting the Adoro Te Alumni to perform such an excellent play in such an idyllic venue! The magical spell that this property casts over those creating and enjoying a play is unparalleled anywhere! Michael hopes you will enjoy the Adoro Te Alumni this evening as much as he’s enjoyed working with them on Into the Woods!
